This gives them rationale for their plan to sell public assets and seriously handicap or eliminate services, research, and departments that ideologically they find problematic. A lean mean free-market class-war machine. Buh bye Stats Can, Arts & Culture, Environment, hullo war machines and jails. I'd like to think the Cons aren't this smart but sadly I fear they are and bankrupting our governments is part of the plan. Call me crazy but the damage being done both provincially and federally is staggering and pervasive and I can't imagine these folks are THAT stupid.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5936637281134795592.post-88894333305643647772011-09-02T10:15:21.333-07:002011-09-02T10:15:21.333-07:00Is there such a thing as an "ombudsman" ...Is there such a thing as an "ombudsman" in Canada?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OmbudsmanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5936637281134795592.post-46803297131748331542011-09-02T07:37:29.571-07:002011-09-02T07:37:29.571-07:00My guess is Harper was taking a calculated gamble ...My guess is Harper was taking a calculated gamble to juice the economy to look good until he got his majority wish.
Now I'd say to him:"Be careful what you wish for; the coming mess is yours to own now."ATPnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5936637281134795592.post-36109469315709966472011-09-01T22:27:31.786-07:002011-09-01T22:27:31.786-07:00the fact that public information had been removed ...the fact that public information had been removed from the crown entity sponsored by tax payers is just sickening.

DmitriAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5936637281134795592.post-91478916280724974502011-09-01T08:33:23.862-07:002011-09-01T08:33:23.862-07:00The really strange thing to try and figure out is ...The really strange thing to try and figure out is why Harper made sub-prime mortgage lending less restrictive in Canada, right after the easy money bubble burst in the US. There was a perfect example of the problems associated with high ratio lending, including massive misallocations of capital, yet Harper did it anyway. This has to be the height of folly and irresponsibility, not to mention running up the highest federal deficit in history.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5936637281134795592.post-86023294276029671702011-09-01T08:06:13.836-07:002011-09-01T08:06:13.836-07:00If you look at the CMHC website, it say nothing ab...If you look at the CMHC website, it say nothing about having to be a Canadian or immigrant to qualify. Speculation that a lot of HAM was more a case CMHC just saying yes.... so that effectively the play was a 10% gamble begins to seem realistic. Soooo... a 50K gamble on the property market going up can yield a great return... and if the market sinks... they walk away... leaving the Canadian tax payer.... destroyed. Its telling that CMHA doesnt state you must be Canadian.... as every other Govt Can website... does. Maybe true, maybe not.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
